Willow Brook Christian Home seeks a highly energetic, self-motivated individual for the position of Director of Culinary Services (full-time). We’re looking for an individual with a passion for food excellence to join our professional culinary team.
The Director of the Culinary Team at Willow Brook Christian Home will plan and direct all activities of the culinary services for our residents, staff, guests and special events. The Director will also serve as a food service manager by preparing, executing, and accounting for food products and fiscal responsibilities under a restaurant model of service.
Other key responsibilities of this position include implementing departmental culinary standards, policies, and procedures, overseeing and scheduling all culinary staff at the Willow Brook Christian Home location in line with proper scheduling template, and working with the Corporate Director of Culinary Services to develop and conduct training for culinary staff.
The Director will also work to plan recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets, oversee food and supply purchasing, and create suggestions for the use of food-in-progress as menu alternatives. This individual will procure all food, equipment, and supplies for meals, will conduct interviews and hire qualified culinary staff and complete performance evaluations, and develop standardized recipes to regulate quality and quantity of food prepared.
Requirements of the position include a culinary degree from an accredited culinary school/program and/or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and willingness to acquire a certification in dietary management (CDM), Serve-Safe certified, a minimum of three years management experience/five years food service experience, excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, the ability to work flexible schedules (including evenings and some weekends).

Due to campus growth, Willow Brook at Delaware Run is currently seeking a part-time laundry staff member for the healthcare center in Delaware . The laundry employee ensures that all laundry (linens, personal clothing, etc.) will be clean, as stain free as possible, and marked with the resident's name. Neatly folding, laundry delivery, and placing laundry in proper storage areas are other duties of this position. The laundry employee should also ensure that the work area stays neat and clean. Housekeeping in care areas will also be required for this position in addition to laundry duties.
Job qualifications include basic communication skills and knowledge of proper washing and drying of fabrics; ability to work most of the time standing and walking; ability to bend and pick up laundry and supplies of light to heavy weight; ability to work without close supervision; and must be able to perform basic arithmetic. Previous similar work experience is highly desired.
